Experience Summary
While living in San Antonio, Texas, I served my students as an adjunct instructor of American History at St. Mary’s University and San Antonio College. In 2006 I began facilitating courses online for Axia College of University of Phoenix and Excelsior College. While at Axia I instructed several different writing courses including Effective Persuasive Writing, Effective Essay Writing, Research Writing, and Written Communication. I can say with confidence that students at all of the institutions that I’ve had the privilege of working for benefitted from my knowledge and experience, and that same level of professionalism will be brought to yourself or your child.
Teaching Style
From my many years of experience I have learned that the most important aspect of teaching style is to stay in contact with each student. Educational psychologists have demonstrated that students of all ages have an inherent need to have a personal yet professional relationship with their instructors, and I have seen this work in action. While teaching in the classroom I made it a point to get to know each of my students. I’ve contacted each of my students in some way on a daily basis in my online courses as well. Many of my students have thanked me for this dynamic student-teacher relationship, and this will be no less the case as I tutor yourself or your child.
