Experience Summary
Throughout my educational career I have always enjoyed science classes. Due to this proficiency I was selected as a teacher's assistant for two undergraduate Biology classes. I also took 3 science based education classes. These classes were a great experience where we worked at a local high school with three exceptional science teachers. During the school year, I also taught a six week Saturday science experience to 4th -6th graders; then in the summer I taught at two different science camps. After college, I chose to become a dental student at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.
Teaching Style
My approach to tutoring is based on the belief that science is a fun and interesting subject. I always maintain a positive attitude and attempt to teach science without being boring. I have good communication skills and can work with students in a constructive, encouraging, and non-abrasive manner. As a tutor my job is to connect with my students, make the subject interesting, and relate it to their lives in some way so they are actively involved in the learning process. In my experience this is the best way to help students become successful.
