Experience Summary
My senior year in high school I was a tutor for a second grade elementary class, assisting the teacher with reading exercises, as well as correcting various assignments. In college I took part in the Junior Achievement program, teaching economics curriculum to third graders during the spring quarter of my senior year. After college I volunteered at the Renton History Museum from March 2007 to February of 2009 and the Tampa Bay History Center from March of 2009 to May 2009.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to help students find the answers on their own. By asking a series of questions you can help students to find their own answers and express them in their own way. By doing this you not only teach them a subject, but you teach them the more important skill of knowing how to learn. I believe all students, from pre-school to doctorate level possess the same capacity to learn. The challenge for educators is to find the style that works best for each student.
