Experience Summary
I am a doctor of philosophy from a top ten university, Emory.
I have fifteen years teaching experience from grades K through college undergraduates. One of my two required doctoral languages was Latin, which I have taught full-time in public and private high school settings for several years. I have also taught philosophy, English grammar, mathematics, AP history, AP government and welding. Incidentally, I also have extensive trades teaching and work experience. I have extremely strong writing and verbal skills. I am a classically educationed man, deeply learned in the great literary and philosophical works of the West, including the Bible.
Teaching Style
As a philosopher, I have what amounts to an unusual ability to convey to a student a sense of the value and importance of the subject he or she is studying. This is key in motivating any student. As a teacher, I am a careful student of the psychology and abilities of my student. To teach effectively, one must determine precisely where a student is developmentally both in terms of personal psychological maturation and intellectual skill levels, then go from there. Another key to effective teaching is the ability of the teacher to break complexities down into simpler, digestible units, then show how the units may be logically and effectually brought back together.
