Experience Summary
I have been playing stringed instruments for 23 years. My main area of focus is the guitar, and I have toured the country playing in groups. I enjoy teaching and have done so for years privately. I currently have students via Skype and have been chosen to teach on the Cayamo singer/songwriter cruise in 2011 after a successful workshop series I had on this year's cruise that featured many of my heroes. My degree in Recording Arts came in handy when I lived in Nashville from 97-2002 where I did session work and recorded with groups in some of the finest studios in the world. I am constantly trying to learn new things in music and have a knack for explaining things in a unique way that makes learning fun.
Teaching Style
I love to teach and live for those "Ah Ha" moments that happen along the way. I do realize every student is different so I have ways of evaluating what works and customizing the lessons to best suit them. I had a great teacer so I know what an importance it is to be dynamic to the students needs. I find teaching difficult things like phrasing to be highly rewarding to me and to the pupil.
