Experience Summary
My bachelor’s degree is from University of Bombay, India. Although I earned my MA in Specific Learning Disabilities from the University of South Florida, I had to take the core undergraduate courses in order to complete the masters program. In addition, I have 18 credit hours for the Ph.D. and experience in writing grants. I have been awarded over 11 grants for the last 15 years. For the last 13 years I have tutored students in reading, writing and math from Gr. 1 to Gr. 11. Furthermore, I have tutored students in science and social skills from Grade 7 to Gr. 11. Since 17 years, I tutor teachers in math for their State of Florida certification. Since 3 years, I tutor teachers that need assistance with language arts and writing as well.
Teaching Style
I enjoyed working with all children from KG to Grade 12 in Reading, Writing and Math. In addition, I also work with adults - teachers and college students in Math/Algebra. I believe that all children can learn using differentiated and kinesthetic instruction in small group or in one-on-one basis. I am my student's advocate and am a firm believer that all students can meet their potential, be successful and be life-long learners. As I encourage my students to do their best, I take pleasure when my students’ self-esteem and self-confidence improves. It is astonishing when my students, who are at risk in reading, demonstrate mastery of skills in reading, writing and math and they are ale to apply the skills in al other content areas.
