Experience Summary
As a supplemental Instructor/tutor at UMSL Department of Biology, I facilitate the learning process by explaining concepts and encouraging open communication with students. In addition, I conduct weekly review sessions to integrate how-to-learn with what-to-learn. I grade exams and laboratory reports.
Teaching Style
Since students learn in many ways—by seeing and hearing; reflecting and acting; reasoning logically and intuitively; memorizing and visualizing,I provide various guidelines for how I want tasks completed in this course based upon student pool. Students might describe me as a knowledgeable coach who dispenses the fact, principles, and concepts they need and works closely with someone to correct problems in how they think and behave. I give students a lot of personal support and encouragement to do well in their course.
