Experience Summary
I earned a bachelor of science degree in Adolescent/Young Adult English/Language Arts Education from Miami University in December 2008. I then taught tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade English for six months, from January to June 2009. During the 2009-2010 school year I have been substitute teaching in both middle and high school. I am currently in a freshman English classroom for seven weeks while the full-time teacher is out on maternity leave and I will be in an eighth grade English classroom for seven weeks for another maternity leave until the end of the school year.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with middle and high school age students. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching and I love helping students understand more in their English classes. I am very passionate about reading and proper grammar and get so happy when I see a student's face light up in understanding of a new concept. If the first method I use to teach a new concept doesn't work, I try a different approach to make sure all students are able to understand.
