Experience Summary
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a mathematics major from Northern State University at Aberdeen, South Dakota. Being a continual learner, I also completed a broadfield science endorsement in Montana. Twelve years teaching experience has given me extensive opportunities teaching secondary mathematics and science to various cultures in Alaska, Montana, and South Dakota. As a culturally sensitive teacher, I have dealt with many learning styles in a patient manner. As a graduate instructor at Eastern Washington University at Cheney, Washington, I have also taught college level algebra.
Teaching Style
To listen is to learn; this goes hand-in-hand with asking questions. In order to learn, one has to process information at his own pace. Questions are sometimes more important than answers. I also believe a seed can be planted along the way. In other words, as one proceeds learning, a new concept can be introduced that might not make sense at the time, but will spark recognition later. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. I love to inspire others, and I strive to make a difference in lives.
