Experience Summary
I have more than two years experience developing and editing manuscript for textbooks grades K–12 in Math, Literature and Social Studies. My masters degree combines a command of written and verbal communications. I attained a high level of personal scholarship during undergraduate and graduate degrees, graduating magna cum laude and receiving a merit scholarship.
I have extensive experience working with youth and teens - from one-on-one tutoring of adolescent mothers (ages 14-20) lesson planning for a girl's program for 9-12 year-olds, to literacy tutoring at public libraries to children ages 4-7.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with students of a variety of ages. I believe learning requires engaging the student's interest, accessing their strengths and preferred learning style and expanding their understanding. In my past experience presenting material in a number of different creative ways and focusing on conveying the process of problem solving and study works the best. Every student can succeed with the right set of tools and support.
