Experience Summary
I have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Master and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Being proficient in mathematics was and continues to be an integral part of working in engineering for me, and although this is fairly obvious, what I have discovered, through tutoring my own kids (currently 9th grade in high school, 7th grade in middle school and 5th grade in elementary school), is that devoting time to gain an understanding of the very basic material goes a very long way regardless of whether one is studying complex or simple mathematics. Helping them in this way, rather than solving their homework, has given them confidence and prepared them better for later topics.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and by doing so I can mentor and transmit to my students the necessary information more effectively.
I provide high quality teaching. That means being prepared for each and every class, knowing and understanding well the subject matter.
However, teaching requires also a willing student. And so, to be effective, I need to learn about the students' interests, about their skills and their expectations about the class. Communication between teacher and student is key for successful learning.
I expect the students to act responsibly and to try to do their best. I expect and encourage students do their work.
