Experience Summary
I have taught elementary school in Colorado for 34 years. I have basically taught 2nd-6th graders, and taught a middle school class (combination 6th/7th/8th) one year. The past seventeen years, I have taught gifted/talented students. G/T students usually have asynchronous development, meaning they have strong abilities in some subjects and are weaker in others. Some g/t students are twice-exceptional, meaning they are gifted in particular subjects but have learning disabilities which need to be addressed in others. Therefore, I have experience with the entire spectrum of learning disabled through profoundly gifted students. I am a master teacher in all subject areas, except the arts.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I try to discover each student's particular learning style to help them successfully enjoy the learning experience and maximize his/her learning potential. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I am a firm believer in establishing mutual respect between the student and teacher. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate materials and active-learning experiences. A few good educators can make a world of difference in a child's education. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
