Experience Summary
I tutored English composition in the writing lab as work-study for St. Petersburg Junior College to assist financial aid for my Associates degree. I also tutored disabled students at the University of South Florida in writing skills. I held a composition writing component to the Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Program at the Training School Boys. I taught ESL for the Cape Verdean Community Development Center in Pawtucket. I also taught GED classes at the Woodlawn Community Center in Pawtucket.
Teaching Style
I have recently learned to incorporate meaning-centered philosophy (Viktor Frankl) to my teaching with a Portfolio methodology. I use these methods with a dynamic demeanor and with positive re-inforcement remarks on their papers.I learned Portfolio method at the Junior College and have significant results with it. For me, there is no greater passion than to impart to students the desire to want to learn; particularly, when they do the research. I have always wanted to be the professor or teacher children remember.
