Experience Summary
I have worked with children in one way or another for my entire adult ilfe. I have taught pre-school and elementary education as well as working in two different children's museums. I currently posses a California Clear Elementary Education Credential and a Masters in Education from the University of La Vern. The process of obtaining my teaching credential and my masters degree allowed me to reflect upon the educational skills I developed teaching preschool.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is student focused. It is necessary to understand the student's strenghts and needs before one can begin to assist them in learning the academic material that they need to master. Much of my preshool teaching career consisted of working with four year olds and getting them ready for kindergarten. I made it a point of talking to kindergarten teachers in the local area so that I had an idea of the skills that my students would need to have. I used that as a guideline. However, the individual personalities and learning styles of my students was the most significant factor. It always had the greatest impact on my teaching.
