Experience Summary
I earned a BS degree in history, which I taught in high school. I had minors in Biology and English and tutored students in these areas. My second degree, MS in School Administration, led me to be principal of a high school and a k-12 school. Later, I taught American Government in a Junior College and worked with students with learning disabilities in a University, teaching, testing and writing programs for them to be successful in college. Presently, I am Dean of Covenant Bible College and Seminary and teach at the school also.
Teaching Style
All children are unique, and all need a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. My function and desire,as a teacher, is to aid students in meeting their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher as a guide,(2)allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning and(3)promoting respect for all things and all people. My personality, love for teaching and love for students lends itself to these accomplishments.
