Experience Summary
I spent 7 years as a college professor, middle school Spanish, and one year as program director of the criminal justice and paralegal studies at a 'for-profit' institution. I spent most of my working career teaching young people in very diverse environments and people of many cultures. I spent 3 years as a detective investigating juvenile crime and part of the investigation was the rehabilitation involved rather than the prosecution of those cases. I believe I understand young people considering that I have five children of my own. I believe that the combination of my education and diverse background in the work force, I can be an asset to your company. I have strong communication skills, powerpoint presentations, and writing skills.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching. It has become a passion because of the self-rewarding results. Children learn in different ways; some are visual, kinesthetic, or audio learners; in addition, some children come from various cultural and domestic environments and each child needs their individual taylored program or style of learning. The instructor needs to be flexible with his/her approach with each individual. My goal is to empower children to succeed and progress in their academic world.
