Experience Summary
In my 16 years as an educator, I taught middle school and high school mathematics and I worked for 5 years providing staff development for elementary math teachers (Pre-K to grade 5) helping them to improve instruction and become effective teachers of mathematics. In addition to being a teacher, I also worked as tutor, providing mathematics instruction for students of all ages. Finally, I was also a tutor at the college level when I worked as a mathematics adjunct.
Teaching Style
My desire to help people learn motivates me to search for strategies so that students can learn even the most difficult mathematics concept. Students I have worked with as well as adults say that I am an extremely patient and caring teacher and that I always find ways to help them understand. Not only do I teach students the concepts, I also utilize various strategies in order to help them retain the information so that they will succeed on their tests. Due to the fact that I am interested in helping individuals to succeed in life, I find time to teach tutees how to study and be a life-long learner so that they can accomplish their educational or personal goals.
