Experience Summary
I am certified K-12 in Art Education. I have worked outside of the public school system as a tutor and summer art teacher since graduation. I have also worked for a non-profit women's health foundation, where I created and implememnted educational programs for women in transitional shelters. I maintain my focus on art as a freelance artist and continually work with an artistic production company located in Providence, RI.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is that of the constructivist approach. I believe that with the proper tools and guidance, students should be allowed to think independently and creatively. Ideally, I believe that when students are supported appropriately, they have the ability to learn to problem solve on their own, ultimately preparing them for the world, both inside and outside of the classroom.
I feel strongly that students excell within a comfortable and nurturing environment, therefore, I strive to create that inside my classroom.
