Experience Summary
As a working artist in DC that has been formally trained in painting, drawing and digital art I have a wealth of experience in many mediums. I earned a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting and have been painting and exhibiting work since 2002. I have taught painting and perspective, intro to drawing and landscape painting, and can teach any range of students. I have worked mostly with middle school age children, and special education adults. I am confident that not only can I teach people proper techniques for painting and drawing but can also inspire them to have a passion for art making.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is adaptive. Each person, especially in the field of art brings with them a skill level and an appreciation for a certain style. Children often are not taught the freedom of pursuing styles that are outside of the traditional realistic scope of artwork. I will teach my students the technical aspect of painting and drawing as well as the foundation they need to develop an individual identity. I love working with children and receive great satisfaction from seeing them have an epiphany moment with one of their works of art.
