Experience Summary
I was born and raised in Germany and lived there until I was 24 years old (now 27). I took advanced German literature classes and English classes all through junior high and high school. In addition to that I was placed in a program in which history and philosophy were taught in English. I am fluent in both English and German. I am also fluent in Czech.
I have a BA in American Studies and Romance Studies which covered lingustics, literature, culture and history of United States of America and latin as well as francophone countries.
I have had translating and interpreting positions and I currently work in training design which means I create training materials and content every day and will be able to do so for my tutoring sessions.
Teaching Style
I live and breathe learning in my full time position and I am passionate about languages. From my own experience of learning languages the best way to learn a language is in a fun and relaxed way with a native speaker. Trial and error are an important piece of this. I will encourage your child to speak German at all times. Speaking the language with errors will teach you more than listening to the language without errors. With constant, gentle correction, errors will slowly disappear. I believe that the more languages we speak, the more friends we make throughout our lives and I am excited to help your child get there.
