Experience Summary
I taught high school science for four years before returning to further my education and after getting a Master's in Counseling became a school counselor in public school. I worked for 11 years teaching a mental health curriculum that is developmental and research based in grades one through five. I then took my mental health curriculum to the middle school level where I continued to teach in small groups.Presently I am employed in the mental health field and have been involved with Intensive Gestalt Therapy Training. I am currently certified as both counselor and Science Teacher in the state of North Carolina.
Teaching Style
I teach a child that he or she can learn and help them become aware of their own unique learning style and teach ways of using study aides based on their unique learning style. I like experiential learning in which the child naturally develops a love of learning.Once the child learns a love of learning and finds their strengths they will be able to excel in their studies.
