Experience Summary
I recently graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. There I had the opportunity to work as a Teacher's Assistant for undergraduates, which included private instruction during office hours, help with homework, grading, and occasionally leading courses. In addition to this, I tutored privately in Systems Physiology. Prior to my graduate studies, I pursued my bachelor's degrees in biology (with a minor in chemistry) and German. For these reasons, I feel that I am not only well-versed in the sciences and mathematics, but also that I have a good understanding of the humanities. Recently I have tutored a variety of students at the high school and college level in math and science.
Teaching Style
I thoroughly enjoy helping students to gain a good understanding of their topics of study. I am very patient, and work hard to make sure that the student is comfortable in our sessions and with asking me questions. However, I firmly believe that in order to learn, a student must make an effort outside of our tutoring sessions. I strongly encourage the student to discover a love of learning so that they are motivated to put in the effort needed to succeed.
