Experience Summary
Creativity has always been at the forefront of my personal and professional practices. I earned a Masters in Fine Art degree with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Arts which has allowed me to use a variety of artistic methods - visual art, electronic music composition, as well as creative writing of essays, poetry, and plays, to help me meet goals. A former nurse, my experiences in teaching and mentoring have spanned more than 20 years on a variety of subjects. In the past five years, I have taught the arts to children and adults, with and without disabilities, in business, education, and healthcare settings.
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer that we are learners for life and that our yearning to learn starts at a very early age. I feel that children should be given every opportunity to succeed so support of their inquisitiveness is essential. As children mature into middle school and high school, I have found it becomes even more important to sustain their interests and help them to develop these into life-long learning and living practices. Even with young and older adults, I try to help those I mentor find their passion, support their growth, and celebrate their successes to the level they feel capable and beyond.
