Experience Summary
As a recent graduate earning my M.Ed., I have learned different techniques for teaching to different learning styles. After receiving my BFA in studio art, it became my mission to help others not only learn how to create, but to believe in themselves as well. I also believe that the student learns best when subjects are integrated and I enjoy finding creative ways to bring other subjects into art. Along with my degree in Art, I also spent four years in an after care setting tutoring students at the elementary level in all subject areas.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed working with children and have spend the past 13 years working with them in various settings. I have found that every child learns in their own special way and it is my job to work with the child, figure out what teaching approach works best, and help the child be able to adapt that approach to every subject on their own. I believe integrating subjects allows students to see all areas of the material being taught. It is my goal to help students understand how they learn best, how they can use tools to help themselves understand what is being taught, and ultimately gain confidence in themselves.
