Experience Summary
As a fine artist and educator, I have many years experience teaching students in a variety of settings and with varying age groups. I have worked as a long-term substitute teacher for art at Northmont Middle School teaching students how to create various art projects. I have also had the opportunity to teach at Precious Blood Catholic school in the area of art for grades K-12. I am currently an Adjunct Instructor at ITT Technical Institute teaching a drawing class in the Visual Communications program. I enjoy teaching students of all ages in the areas of painting, drawing, printmaking, and all that the arts have to offer.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and working with students of all ages. I believe that all students have the ability to create master pieces in art if they put forth the time and effort and have the right encouragement. I have seen too many times that students may feel that they can't draw or that they aren't creative. I try to encourage students that art is a process and they will grow with practice and time, just as in any academic area. I show students that progress is always aparent in the evolution of artwork.
