Experience Summary
I have performed through out the United States and Canada,as a guitarist, singer, and music arranger. This has provided me with a vast knowledge of my instrument, and also a wealth of insight to the mechanics involved in playing an instrument and performing. For the past 35 years I have done solo and group work in various situations such as clubs, restaurants, weddings, fairs, schools and social benefits. These experiences have given me an opportunity to share what I have learned with other people who are seeking to learn to play an instrument.I have instructed children, teens and adults to various degrees of playing skills and satisfaction.A number of my students have gone on to become performers themselves.
Teaching Style
To successfully teach,a tutor must first assess the individuals intellect, tastes and expectations.I am convinced that if a student can count and know the alphabet from A -G,they too can learn to play an instrument.Physical and mental obstacles are only a minor hurdle in learning to play.
Getting to know the students tastes in music and personal aspirations of playing are paramount to success. With this in mind, a tutor can set a course of appropriate lessons to coincide with where a student wants to take his or hers playing level.
