Experience Summary
I am currently studying at the University of South Florida and plan to graduate in the fall 2010 with a B.A. in English Literature and a Minor in Spanish. Studying literature has enabled me to develop my writing skills, as well as allowed me to master the appropriate use of the English language. Through my experience studying Spanish, I have gained the skills and knowledge required to tutor students in the fundamentals of the language. As of December 2009, I have completed a total of six hours of training in the teaching techniques and use of the Sing, Spell, Read & Write and Winning Language Arts Programs. I received this training from the program’s author, Sue Dickson.
Teaching Style
I absolutely love children and find nothing more fulfilling than building relationships with young people and being able to mentor and guide them. I believe in the importance of our education system and the responsibility and potential of teachers to change the lives of the next generation. I feel that encouragement, patience and the ability to discern the individual needs of a student are necessary for a child to succeed academically and otherwise. I am patient, understanding, attentive to the needs of others and feel fully equipped to help those whom I tutor.
