Teaching Style
Low-key, humorous, patient, nurturing. Statistics can be off-putting for those new to the discipline, and through my extensive mentoring over the years, I have found that when teaching a concept such as "standard deviation," for example, it's best to approach it with practical examples, couching the explanation in day-to-day terms and contexts. It has been my experience that when learners are able to relate on a practical level to what is being learned they are more likely to successfully assimilate the knowledge.
