Experience Summary
As a graduate student, I understand how important the ability to communicate in both written and verbal contexts is and I also know how difficult the skill can be to utilize effectively. I have worked with high school and college students who wanted to improve their skills in writing and speaking. I have also tutored people working to acquire English as a second language. I have twelve years of experience in writing and speaking learned throughout my time in school. I have taken the GRE test and I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Creative Writing. I love English and would love to use my skills and training to help others become effective communicators.
Teaching Style
I am a laid back person who is easy to talk to and love to break the complicated down into the easy to grasp. I am a firm believer that every teaching relationship is an opportunity for all involved to learn (and that includes the instructor!). My goal is to teach others how to become effective communicators not only in the realm of the classroom, but in everyday life as well. I enjoy helping my students learn skills that can be applied to every subject in school and in life. I tell all my students who don't feel they have the skills to be a writer that great writers are taught to write; they are not born that way. I know that with my skill, I can give students the chance to become great.
