Experience Summary
I have twenty-five years of experience teaching religious subject matter(and the Bible)in smaller church settings. I have both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree, and am in the process of completing a professional Doctorate at a local seminary. I have also had the opportunity to teach a graduate level seminary class. Most people believe that teaching is my strength and my greatest gifting, and that some of my best work has been done in one-on-one settings.
Teaching Style
It is my considered opinion that there are many styles of teaching that can work effectively with students. Generally, I feel that it is best to adapt the style of teaching to the personality, interest, and capability of the student. My preference is working with teens and young adults, with whom I find that a style that guides them to find the answers for themselves is of greatest advantage. To do this, I tend to patiently guide students with a series of questions, only "jumping in" with information when they begin to appear to have reached a point of frustrated impasse.
