Experience Summary
I have been teaching privately and in select groups for 8 years now. Have experience as a pianist since age 4, and an experienced guitarist and vocalist for 10 years. Have been through many years of lessons and competitions relating to performance and hav also participated in 2 years of marching and concert band as a 1st chair trumpet player. I stem from a very musical family, and my mother owned a music studio for 20 years teaching and my father is a retired band director of 32 years, having MUCH success with State Championships. I have always been greatly musically influenced by my family and my inspirations all my life. I have also been in many Chorus groups, including All County choir from Shawnee State University.
Teaching Style
My teaching style involves what the student wants to achieve out of my teachings. For example i ask the students during their first lesson, "What musical groups and styles inspire you?" This way I can get a feel for what they are looking for. I also do from beginner to advanced theory techniques with notation, playing with a metronome, flash cards, etc. Teaching is a HUGE part of my life and i couldn't be easier to get along with. Love working with all ages, especially the little ones considering i love to be a role model to them. The greatest satisfaction i receive from teaching stems from what my students have accomplished and WILL accomplish if you happen to request my service. Thank you for listening!
