Experience Summary
Welcome!
I have worked for the past nineteen years as a part-time instructor at Tacoma Community College (TCC) while working full time as a chemist. I have an MS in Chemistry, and have taught high school sciences and math as well as science at the junior college level. I am enthusiastic about education, enjoy working with students, the challenge of motivating others, as well as the opportunity to inspire. I am capable, enthusiastic, and look forward to meeting you and assisting in any way I can. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Bill Adams
Teaching Style
Welcome!
I believe it important to make any material a student is learning ‘realistic’. I am a father and understand the need for patience, accepting individual needs and developing a child's sense of purpose. I strive to present real-life examples that apply to the material being studied, and then focus on practice. While repetition (using worksheets or going over the process from different directions) is important, my goal is to explore the concept so that the student is capable of addressing the problem AND understands the theory behind it. I am convinced that any student can learn any material, provided the tools to learn, study and find resources. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Bill Adams
