As a Duke University Fuqua Business School graduate, I have excellent skills in math, finance, accounting, writing, and reading. I also have a BBA in Finance from Howard University. I served as an adjunct professor teaching organizational behavior, market segmentation analysis, and accounting I.
I have also tutored younger children in math and reading to improve their testing scores. I believe that knowledge and understanding in core subject areas is critical to help our children compete globally.
Teaching Style
I am an excited and passionate teacher. I like to use hands-on and current event examples to make the material more relevant to the person being tutored or taught. I understand that if you engage multiple senses of a person he/she is much more likely to retain the information. I continually use positive reinforcing statements to help the person recognize he/she can learn or knows more than he/she is giving himself/herself credit for knowing.
