Experience Summary
I graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in English Education. I have taken 60 credits of English, and I am qualified to teach all levels and areas of English. I recently student taught for English/Reading 6, and English 7, 9, 11 and English 11 advanced. I am also subbing in every area and grade level. I have written many extensive research, literary analysis, and creative writing pieces, so I am able to help with brainstorming ideas, construction of a paper, and grammar. I have applied for a Wisconsin and Colorado teaching license, and I should be receiving them in the next two months.
In addition, I have tutored English Language Learners for 2 years. I have also tutored Freshmen Writing, political science, and history courses.
Teaching Style
I love helping and teaching anyone. For the first part of any session with a new tutee, I would like to understand your learning style, so we can form a plan to help you comprehend the material the best. If you do not understand something in one way I explain it, I always have different ideas or ways to help you understand. I have had to use different styles because I have worked with people with many different types of needs including dyslexia, English language learners, and learning disabilities.
I am patient, I relate well to many people, and I have excellent communication skills.
