Experience Summary
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities which covered a wide range of subject matter. In addition, I have completed extensive coursework in Information Technology, Visual Arts, Multimedia, and Music. Having such a broad academic background has proved beneficial when teaching. For the previous 14 years I have worked with and taught in a variety of settings and have worked with a wide range of age groups. My professional experiences include working as a Teacher in a Before & After School program, a Teacher in various enrichment programs, Substitute Teaching, and Assistant Teaching.
Teaching Style
When working with a students, I like to set realistic goals and checkpoints for their progress, in order to reach the end goals that the students and/or parents have in mind. It is my desire that students also enjoy the experience and I place a special emphasis on creating an atmosphere of acceptance, free exchange of ideas, patience, cheerfulness, and hopefully even some laughter. In addition, I have found that students have many different styles of learning, which is why I tend to try several different methods for explaining concepts in order to discover each student's learning style to better serve their individual needs.
