Experience Summary
Fifteen years corporate training experience. Continue to tutor three sons through school and college, currently unemployed working part time as adjunct faculty at Macomb College teaching courses in business applications. I also teach music, voice and guitar at my church, mentor younger musicians and help them develop into quality players and performers.
Teaching Style
I've always enjoyed the art of communicating complicated material to those who are just learing or don't quite "get it". My focus is to break things down into basic elements and achieve agreement. Then, support learning with repetition. For example: "Would you agree that if we add 5 and 5 and then another 5 that we would end up at 15?" "So, then, 5 added together three times equals 15, right?"
I'm also a big fan of mindmapping for education, so I tend to use it when I lecture at college, and I encourage my students to use it as a visual recall tool.
