Experience Summary

During my time at SDSU, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for general chemistry and organic chemistry courses. I prepared lectures, monitored chemistry labs, proctored and graded exams, and helped individual students during office hours. I am also an experienced scientific writer and I have authored papers published in scientific journals. I currently work at an academic institute as an organic chemist.
Teaching Style
I believe that people learn in many different ways, and the key to effective teaching is using a combination of visual and auditory cues. I am a patient person, and I'm extremely passionate about chemistry and would love to help others discover their potential in this field. Because math and science go hand in hand, I understand the importance of pinpointing exactly what the student is struggling with. Because of this, I am extremely good and tutoring in both math and chemistry simultaneously. My goal is to not only teach chemistry and math, but to give my students the tools they need to study and learn effectively on their own. I also believe that positive reinforcement is the best way to encourage students, and teaching a student chemistry and math is just as important as instilling confidence in them.
