Experience Summary
I have over 9 years of combined teaching and instruction experience at the junior high, senior high, private, collegiate, and adult levels. Through scholarships, I have earned a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio Northern University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University. I am currently working on my second M.Ed. degree and beginning my 3rd season as a Head Boys Track Coach. I have taught and tutored in almost all subject areas but my strongest competencies reside in language arts, math, health, and study skills. I am also a published research writer and poet. In over 700 written pages in just over 10 college subject areas, I have never received below the grade of a "B" on a writing project.
Teaching Style
" The mediocre teacher tells, the good one explains, the superior one shows, and the great one inspires..."
I will inspire, explain, and show... in that order. Regardless of age (my youngest student was 4 and my oldest was 65) I believe that motivation is the cornerstone of all great learning. In fact, teaching without true motivation and belief is just glorified babysitting.
