Experience Summary
I graduated cum laude from Baylor University, in May 2009, with a bachelor's in Professional Writing. My G.P.A. was 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. During my time at Baylor I discovered a love for history, and graduated one class short of a history minor. I worked as an editing transcriptionist at Baylor's Institute for Oral History. Working with Seeds of Hope Publishers, as a volunteer editorial assistant and junior journalist, was also a wonderful opportunity to hone my editing and composition skills. I feel confident and comfortable offering my services in the subjects of English, Composition, History, and Science.
Teaching Style
Being a big sister has always been my favorite job; therefore, I have always sought out opportunities to mentor. I believe that each child is unique and learns at his or her own pace, and in her or his own special way. Each person understands concepts differently, and I believe that, to be effective, a teacher must discover from what angle to approach a lesson, for the student's optimum ability to absorb the information. I am very patient with my pupils, and I try to create an environment for the student that is comfortable and friendly, so that they feel safe to learn and apply the things they are learning.
