Experience Summary
As a graduate of Duke University, I hold myself to the highest standards. I have spent the last ten years as a manager, and as such I have led numerous training courses for both hourly and exempt associates. In the community, I have taught pro bono ESL classes to a predominantly Hispanic community. During the course of my undergraduate degree, I tutored individuals in history, psychology and english.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching, and particularly teaching children and young adults. I am a patient, considerate teacher, and I am willing to review the materials as often as necessary to help the student succeed. I had the benefit of a nurturing tutor in high school, and her example has helped shape my world-view. I believe that remaining task-oriented and receptive to the needs of the individual are key to helping the student learn. No two students learn in the same manner, at least in my experience. The ability to recognize that and then to adapt is paramount.
