Experience Summary
I am a graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors degree in English; in which, has enabled me an understanding in subject of English and writing. Upon receiving my degree, I began working for Smith County Middle School as an In School Suspension teacher. I am currently finishing my second year at this position. My responsibilities are to tutor and teach various degrees of students with various subject disciples while in school suspension. This experience has helped me both as a teacher and as a student in that it has helped me understand how to help various students with different learning difficulties. I am also currently enrolled at MTSU to finalizing my certification to teach English at the secondary level.
Teaching Style
I am very passionate about working and helping students. I have the approach that all students can learn and be strong in any subject, but some students learn differently than others. Some students just need a different approach to certain areas, and more one-on-one help. However, I do believe that the student also has a responsibility to try to better oneself and not depend on someone to give them the answers, but this does not mean that they do not need a little help along the way. I am very easy going and patient. I strive for the moment when a student feels that they cannot do something or figure something out, and then they do figure it out or understand. The feeling of accomplishment and reward on their face is great.
