Experience Summary
I have over 25 years experience in education and have taught middle school through college mathematics. I enjoy helping students learn mathematics as well as other subjects. In math I prefer to assist with basic math through pre-calculus. I also enjoy history and economics and assisting with those subjects as well. I have worked with special needs students as well as students of diversity.
Teaching Style
My philosophy of teaching has evolved from many years of teaching and administrative experience. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding teaching and learning, I find that my mission as an educator is threefold:
• to promote positive learning;
• to spark learner enthusiasm for learning;
• and to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
To accomplish this, I enjoy applying a wide variety of strategies based on essential educational principles encompassing a variety of learning styles, learning theory, diversity issues, instructional planning and assessment.
