Experience Summary
I became a P.E.(k-6) & later Kinder. assistant for 6 years.I completed a Liberal Studies BA degree.During student teaching, I had the opportunity to learn Reading Recovery & build students reading skills. I received my CLAD certificate giving me strategies to work with multilingual kids. I have attended phonics, reading, writing, math conferences incorporating music and hands-on activities. I earned a Gifted Ed. certificate: stretching a child's mind & giving them tools for higher learning.Throughout 13 years of teaching: multi-lingual, ADD, ADHD, OCD, autistic and gifted learners have come through-Each day I continue to learn & assist children in becoming the best.
Teaching Style
I am organized, patient and fill each lesson. I like to assess the child and get an understanding of the level the child is working at. After assessing I like to go over my observations & testing to give you information I observed & how your child has tested. I always leave a lesson of what we have covered.I always send an email to review what we covered and any concerns or great moments from the session.In each lesson there will be review, new material, review.Small Quizzes at the end of session gives us a chance to see if the child understood material covered that day. Each lesson will be fun, activities, standards based.
