Experience Summary
In 1984 and 1985, I taught for two years in the Lebanon, OH, Christian School, grades 4,5, & 6.
For the past 10 years I have been teaching in the Weekend Degree Program at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. I am an adjunct professor in the Theology Department and teach Theological Foundations to non-traditional students. Besides teaching principles of faith and religion and world religions, I emphasize the art of dialogue as a way to communicate and to interact with others - actually, as a lifestyle.
Teaching Style
I simply ADORE teaching, either children or adults. The 4th, 5th & 6th graders I taught in Lebanon Christian school loved and learned from me. I was successful in making their learning material interesting and learnable.
The class I teach at XU is one of the most popular classes in the Weekend Degree Program. As I said above, I emphasize the art of dialogue, which includes above all else, active listening to, and deep respect for, the other person in the dialogue. My students tell me that this class has been life-changing for them. They see the world and their relationships in it and with others in a whole new light.
