Experience Summary
I have a Masters Degree as an Intervention Specialist with a with a BA in Language Arts and Math and an Associate in Engineering Technologies with a Math Minor.Presently I am a certified Intervention Specialist highly qualified in all subject areas.
Previous experience includes:
- Advanced math tutor at Clark State
- Advanced math teacher at Emmanuel Christian Academy and Ridgewood School
- Computer Aided Design Instructor at the Greene County Career Center (Adult Ed.)
Teaching Style
My teaching style changes to fit the requirements of the subject and the needs of my students. I find that presenting and explaining works best for language arts and history, concept teaching works best for science, and direct instruction works best for mathematics. I also take into account the learning preferences of my students: left or right brained, visual, spatial, or kinesthetic because each prefers different treatment.
As a tutor I strive to teach each student in the instructional method they prefer because this leads to an increased comfort level and willingness to learn, and it also enables them to process the material faster. This enables them to become more successful students.
