Experience Summary
I have been a practicing attorney for 20 years and have recently relocated to FL, seeking a career in teaching. I am eligible for a FL teaching certificate in Physics for grade levels 6-12. Although I have a degree in psychology, I originally studied engineering and have extensive academic experience in both science and mathematics. While I was an attorney in RI, I gained teaching experience by tutoring one particular student in all subjects during 3 years while he was remedial classes in middle school. Within a year he was released from that program into a course of regular studies, and after two more years he excelled in high school on his own.
Teaching Style
My career as an attorney has afforded me many opportunities to instruct people from various educational backgrounds on many complicated subjects that have affected their lives. I am extremely patient and model my instructional method to fit the cognitive mindset of the person I am teaching. Having taken bar examinations in three states, I can teach your child to take tests to the best of their ability, and to use the preparation methods to develop skills that will cross over into other subjects and other aspects of their lives. My methodology is to provide students with the personal guidance they need in order to get back on track to reach their goals.
