Experience Summary
As an English Literature major, I was responsible for approaching many different types of writing with a keen and critical eye. In addition, I became skilled at writing analytic papers that were both decisive and grammatically correct. I have worked extensively in the children's publishing world for Scholastic and Simon & Schuster. In these employment capacities, I have spent a great deal of time with teachers and educators discussing curriculum and supplemental texts for student use. I have also been a volunteer for a local literacy program in the Philadelphia area working one-on-one with students in order to improve their reading, comprehension and writing skills.
Teaching Style
I am patient and kind. I enjoy getting to know my student and always do my best to tailor my teaching approach to the needs of the particular learner. I feel that it is advantageous to all to employ a sense of humor while also keeping lessons on track.
