Experience Summary
I have implemented individualized reading and writing programs for students ranging from pre-K to adult; gave one-on-one attention to special needs students in phonics, context-based reading, and fact retention; cultivated students’ understanding of grammar/punctuation, sentence/paragraph construction, and general cohesiveness in creative and academic writing; worked one-on-one with high school students on SAT critical reading and writing sections, devoting extra attention to vocabulary expansion.
Teaching Style
I am keenly aware of how busy most students are, so my aim is for tutoring to feel like something they get to do and not something they have to do. Teaching revitalizes my own love for learning, a love I hope to impart in a gentle, patient manner. I believe in honoring the variance in learning styles, and I empower my students to engage with material in ways that feel natural to them.
