Experience Summary
In Full Sail, I was exposed to a style of teaching not unlike an automatic car wash; a quick brush through the curriculum, and the student was expected to come out knowledgeable about the topic. Unfortunately, I found that true mastery is best produced through hands-on, individual teaching that emphasized comprehension of the material. Oftentimes, I found myself clarifying information that a fellow student had failed to grasp in the lectures. Full Sail also drove me to strive for excellence in education through its world-reknowned academic program. Aside from this, I have had an innate knack for mathematics and algebra, earning a final grade of 100.5% with minimal effort in a college math/physics class that my peers struggled to pass.
Teaching Style
I love the art of teaching. I work with the student on an individual level, tailoring my methods to achieve maximum learning comprehension. Usually, I prefer to have the student figure things out for themselves using guided questions and logic. I feel that one of the most effective methods is, rather than lecture the student and provide the answer, I instead provide the basic materials of the problem and encourage them to figure things out progressively. I believe that anyone can learn if taught in the way that sits best with their learning style and thought processes. I hope to aid in creating a better future, laid foundationally by teachers that understand the way individual students learn.
