Experience Summary
I have a proven success rate in assisting my students in excelling on standardized tests. In the 2007-2008 school year my students achieved double digit gains on the MSAs (Middle School Assessments). Also during my experience I have moved basic and proficient students to advanced levels on the standardized tests and helped the students that I have tutored in the past and currently tutor advance in the subjects of Math (Algebra, Geometry and Basic Mathematics) Science, Social Studies and English from failing to grades that show proficiency.
Teaching Style
I am actually in the process with my students, their victories are my victories. I want my students to be proud of the work that they have done and the achievements that they have made. I give my students the information, I show them how to apply the information through modeling, I practice with them and then I release them to apply the technique themselves. Afterward I assign an project for an artifact that allows them through written words to translate their knowledge to another person. It is my goal to prepare them for life outside of the classroom, failure is not an option.
